6 TIPS TO TAKE ON WINTER SKIN

6 TIPS TO TAKE ON WINTER SKIN

Sure, snow is cool. And the holidays are fun and all. But along with all of that comes dropping temperatures, which can only mean one thing: dry, flaky, red, tight, itchy (the list could go on and on…) skin. Yeah, winter skin is kind of a bummer. Luckily, we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve to help you get through the worst of it.

  1. Stay Out of Hot Water

We totally get the temptation to wash your face with hot water when it’s freezing outside, but if it’s too hot it can leave your skin feeling tight and dehydrated. Stick with warm water and try using a gentle towel to pat dry.

  1. Switch Up Your Products

The skincare products that you use in summer just don’t cut it in winter. Swap your cleanser for a more gentle alternative that doesn’t strip away moisture. Oil-based cleansers are great for dry/sensitive skin, while gel cleansers are great for oily/combo skin. Also, replace your moisturizer with one that’s rich and hydrating.

  1. Itchy? Try This.

No, it’s probably not that thing you came across on WebMD at 4am — the reason you’re itchy is most likely super dry skin. Make sure you moisturize daily, and use a product that contains ceramides. They create a barrier that’ll lock moisture into your skin.

  1. Refill That Water Glass

It’s no secret that drinking water has a ton of health benefits, and improving the quality of your skin is just one of them. So restore moisture and rid your skin of toxins by getting in eight glasses a day. Having a tough time? Sub a couple of the glasses with some warm, comforting tea.

  1. Moisturize…the Air

Not only does your skin get damaged by the cold air outdoors, but it also gets damaged by the heater indoors! It’s just dry air everywhere. Fortunately, using a humidifier in your bedroom and/or living room can add some moisture back into your life. Bonus: It can also help prevent snoring and relieve allergy symptoms.

  1. Stick with Supplements

Last but certainly not least, be sure to take your supplements. Our Hair Skin Nails is packed with nourishing vitamins and minerals, biotin and milk thistle. They support the detoxifying process and help stimulate collagen production to give you an enviable glow all year-round.* Vitamin E is also great for winter skin, and it can help to both decrease redness and even your complexion.*

Hopefully you picked up a few new tips to get your skin looking and feeling good ASAP. Plus, the good news is that spring is only, like, 50-something days away.
